Castle Forbes Colognes.

I very rarely see any mention of these fine colognes. I recently purchased a few other colognes and was included a sample of Gentlemen's EDT. I must say this is a very fine cologne in the vein of Penhaligon's English Fern, Trumper's Wild Fern and Crown's Fougere.

Does anyone here have one of their colognes and what is your impressions of them? I am very keen to know more about these colognes.

Jani

Hello Jani,

I agree. CF has very good, high quality fragrances. I have Gentlemen's Cologne, 1445 and Limes Special Edition. Gentlemen's is my favorite.

They may cost more than other fragrances, but they are 125ml bottles versus the standard 100ml.

Gordon, what's your take the CF line?

Cheers,

Richard in Plain Old Texas

Has anyone tried the Limited Neroli they offer? That one has me curious.

Jani, I've tried them all, and none appeal to me. They are all too 'modern' style for my taste, although they are undoubtedly high quality products. Andrew French was trying to walk a very fine line when he created these. He wanted them to have a certain 'traditional' association, but basically be contemporary type scents. The final products were too 'contemporary' for me......which is probably just as well considering their price ( chuckle ).

I've tried both the Keig and the Gentlemen's Cologne (thanks to Jim at Vintage Blades).

While the quality of the ingredients is evident, I found them to be too muddled for my taste. Just too much going on.

I would have to agree with Brent.I have the 1445 and there's just no distinction between the different notes.Hence,muddled.
