Was wondering how similar the cologne is to the shaving cream in scent? Any help is appreciated.

Nathan, This afternoon I came across your question, and I can say that the fragrances are identical.

DC 1913 is an excellent fragrance. Somewhat similar to C&S No 88 but with more Frankincense. The fragrance in the cream format is very similar to the actual EDT. The producer did an excellent job keeping the fragrance true across both mediums.
