Locally, we now have a stockist who carries Acqua di Parma, not the whole line, but enough (Oak Hall for those near Memphis). Wife did not like Intensa, and they did not have Assoluta tester handy, so I sprayed Essenza and Colonia on the back of my hand.
Now, my sniffer is no where near acute. Previously, I thought Colonia lasted 4 hours or so, but last night, at the four hour mark, Colonia seemed to project more than Essenza. I got roses and some citrus (lemony) accord that was a bit soapy but not overtly so. I could not really distinguish Essenza but wife kinda liked it. Said clean and soapy but not in a barbershop way (which is how she describes Penhaligons English Fern or Sartorial).
So, anyone got a thought on these and what it is that Essenza smells like
