Vintage Royall Aftershaves

Post by churchilllafemme »

Has anyone here used any of the old vintage Royall aftershaves? If so, what are your impressions? Thanks.

I've used them (infrequently) going back 40 years and have always thought they were overpriced. Just my opinion, of course.

A friend of mine used to give them away at Christmas in the early 80's and I still have a few left, which in fairness still seem as "fresh" as when received.

Most of mine are "all purpose lotions" not aftershaves.

John, Well, if you're asking about these products to be used as actual 'aftershaves' I don't know as I can't tolerate anything like that amount of alcohol on my freshly shaven skin. But as far as the scents are concerned I think that their older four, Lyme, Bay Rum, Spice, and Muske are pretty good. I've never regularly used any of them because there are other brands in each scent genre that I prefer but the Royall concoctions seemed like good products and I can certainly understand any gent using them. The ones they've come up with since those four however I haven't cared for. YMMV of course.
Regards,
Gordon
