Finally pulled the trigger on Sartorial

Post by jthomas60506 »

After sampling it a few times, I finally bought my first bottle of Penhaligon's, and it has not disappointed. I have received raves from family and friends (particularly my teenage daughter, which is the ultimate approval.)

Interestingly, I sprayed a little on each wrist and asked my sister to take a whiff, and she detected two decidedly different scents, one of which she liked and the other which she said had an old (but pleasant) scent.

Guess I should remember to wear it only on my left wrist. . .

I'm glad it has been a success for you. Sartorial has some interesting little sensory components that (I found) seem to flit in and out, but the dominant scent was vanilla. I can't wear it, or many other modern colognes, for that reason.

I like the "two different scents" comment of your sister. She's spot on. That strange steamy, slightly hissy opening dissipates fast to something not unlike old Brut (if old Brut had had a bit more class). I found Sartorial really grew on me. Wearing it at the moment, indeed.
