Finally picked up a half ounce bottle of this artisan cologne to give it a try. It is made with true essential oil, and if you like the scent of real sandalwood you're going to be a fan. This is pretty much a single note woody fragrance. It goes on with a slight tangy edge(grape spirits perhaps...quite nice) that quickly morphs into a deep fragrant sandalwood. This wonderful scent lasts at least 6 hours on me, though the sillage is a little limited...it is after all a cologne. I find that adding an extra spritz or two is helpful.
The Meehan's is (to my largish nose) similar to C-M Sandalwood Cologne in that they both start with a sharp top note (the C-M opens with a little bitter citrus), then evolve from there. I can't say I prefer one over the other, but do like them both a great deal. Suppose I will just have to keep them both on hand.
