Aqua Velva redesign

Post by kronos9 »

I was getting low on my supply of AV so I stopped at Target for a new bottle. And it was a new bottle, in honor of AV's 100th anniversary. I picked up one of the two remaining and came home to compare the two designs. Maybe I'm resistant to change but I prefer the old bottle. Classier fonts, IMO.

This design is so new that it's not even on AquaVelva.com yet.

I hope it hasn't been reformulated; that would be a true travesty. I always have a bottle of Classic Ice Blue on hand and reach for it frequently.

Years ago I purchased 5-6 of the 7oz. bottles and recently we (my son and I) ran out of them. I still have a partial from way back when it was still in glass. Going from the most recent bottles to the one in glass was a non-transition because they were identical scents. However, the online-purchase of 5 more 7oz. bottles revealed that they have indeed changed the scent formulation. It's more musty-smelling now, almost like it was packaged in plastic and left in the sun.

I thought maybe we got a bad batch from the online retailer so I picked one up at Wal-Mart to compare. Same musty smell. :(

My son and I are very both disappointed in this reformulation of the classic Aqua Velva Ice Blue.

George, I don't use AV regularly these days, but there was a time that it was top of my list. Frost Lime AV was and still is my favorite of the AV line over the years. I've got a large and a small glass bottle of the FL AV that I still use very sparingly as a fragrance rather than an aftershave whenever I may be preparing for a special occasion or some such event unrelated to shaving.
