Yoram, I swear that Arko soap is amazing stuff, if you ever try it, you'll love it. It smells great, a beautiful clean, soapy smell, a lather enough to shave 2 men, terrific moisturising qualities as well, and cheap as dirt. I love Proraso still, but Arko's winning over. I have a huge supply of Arko on the way over here very soon. I can't wait, 2 boxes of soap, and 4 tubes of the assorted shaving creams which are equally as good. I knew about Arko 3 years ago, but I never tried it til recently, and I wish I had!

Best regards!

Hi Jeff,

One more Cream that I like during the winter cold days is the Body shop shaving cream. The container is huge and a little goes a long way… I am planning to use it on Thursday

Today was an ok shave. Not great just ok. Got some irritation. I think its the new blade. Left my trouble areas alone to prevent more irritation. Well here it is.

Merkur Slant Bar
New Feather Blade
Proraso Green
Anthony Logistics Razor Burn Repair
Savile Row 241

Before my shave I used the Nancy Boy Toning Face Mask. That stuff is fantastic!

Hello Mantic,

You used Thayers Witch Hazel, QED Davinci Water, CAR Hydrolast Skin Conditioner AND Trumper's Skin Food all after the shave? Holy Moly  ! Ultra skin conditioning! That must have been some brutal gunfight in the shaving corral this mornin', pardner!

For me, I kept it simple. Some Floris JF cream (sample from alchemist in NYC) preceded by a face wash with Nancy Boy and followed with some Pinaud Club Royale AS. Floris was great; I expected no less from Floris.

Cheers,
Richard

 Well, it was more in the nature of an experiment.

I use the Thayers as more of a cleanser than a toner: after my cold water rinse I soak a cotton pad with the Thayers and rub it all over to pick up any remaining stubble or soap residue that might be sticking to my face, then I rinse again immediately. I began to wonder if it might be beneficial to "retone" my face, and I had the QED DaVinci Water at hand, so I decided to use it (I suppose I could've just re-applied more Thayers without rinsing). Then I used the remnants of my Hydrolast sample, waited a couple minutes for it all to dry, then moistened my fingertips and applied the Skin Food to seal the whole she-bang in.

Did it make a difference? No, I don't think so (at least based on one shave) *shrug*. I do think that the benefits of the Hydrolast last longer when I seal it with Skin Food though; Hydrolast by itself makes my skin nice and soft for about 12 hours, but if I pair it with Skin Food it lasts an entire 24 hours till my next shave. SWMBO approves.

-Gillette Adjustable with Feather blade
-Saint Charles brush
-Burma shaving soap (I like it really, but it's hard to get it here)
-Will G's #7 AS lotion (given from a member here)

Very, very delightful shave... :) :)

Neutrogena Razor Defense Daily Scrub
Speick shave cream
Merkur Progress/Israeli Personna
Thayers Witch Hazel
CAR Hydrolast Skin Conditioner
Trumper's Skin Food

I always have to work a little harder to lather up the Speick compared to most of the other creams I use, but I'm also always rewarded with an outstanding mix (plus I love the scent). I got a great, smooth shave this morning.

Hello All,

Today was Coates Lime sample (courtesy of alchemist) followed by Pinuad Naturalle Sec (light citrus scent like Florida Water).

I'll pass on the Coates. Not a refreshing lime scent for me. I'll stick with my T&H Limes and QED Lime soap.

Nancy Boy mild facial cleanser has replaced my Neutrogena Daily Face Scrub before the shave. I like the way NB feels on my face, and I don't need the daily scrubbing.

Cheers,
Richard

Morning gents, from an ice/freezing rain PA

Vision w/merkur blade
Shavemac 22368
St. Charles Savory Rose
Coral skin food
St. Charles New Spice

Got a really fantastic shave today. I normally have some problems with soaps and lathering. I am just a cream guy, but I got a pretty decent lather and great shave today. My kids have school cancelled, and my little girl thinks it's a great shave as well.

Trumper's Sandalwood cologne

Great shave but once again Trumper burns the crap outta my face. :( I'll give it another chance or two and then it's on to the Selling & Trading forum. Bummer.

All right, I guess I'm not a real SMF insider until I post my daily bathroom habits on here (just the shaving part). I assume the existence of this information will come to haunt me sometime in the future...

Shower (hot) with wash courtesy Ivory soap

Taylor of Old Bond Street Avocado Shaving Cream (v2.0)
Ancient Col. Conk badger brush, using small stainless-steel bowl to whip it up
Merkur HD
Merkur blade
Thayer's Witch Hazel aftershave (triple strength)
Classic Shaving Alum block to a couple tiny nicks
Poor man's skin food (Corn Huskers Lotion)

Not a bad shave as I continue to get more comfortable with the HD, and come to terms with the fact that, no matter how many fancy razors I may use, I still look like a fat slug (with a damn fine shave!)
