What Rooney's brush "FINEST" should I take ?

Post by ead »

Hello
I have been thinking about getting myself a Roony FINEST brush, but now comes the dilema of what to take
I don't want to large one (Very high priced, and I don't love that big brushes)
So
I was thinking about the Small size or Medium size, and there is the question if I should take style 1, style 3 or style 2(come only in small size)

Can you help me out here guys before I make such a big drop of $ ?

I was thinking about the Style 2 in small
It has a nice long hair, and the price is allmost 100$ less then the medium, also I don't like brushes that take a lot of cream or soap and then after I use it I just throw away what's left on the brush in the sink

What do you think about it? style 2 small in finest?

Hmm...to get a definite answer before you hit the enterkey you'd better wait until mr. Rooney himself chimes in. But nowadays he's rather busy with his offspring....

Oh, no, by no means am i mr Rooney...!
He resides in Canada afaik....

Seriously: when you're about to make such an expensive purchase i would wait until members which can compare all three styles in the small and medium versions, give their impressions and opinion.

I only have:

-Style 1 and Style 3 large in finest and super
-Style 2 silvertip

so i can't give you a good advice!

I would get the medium style 1 in finest.
It's the best all round brush and Mr. Sabini's (owner of Rooney) favourite brush.
The style 3 small is a very stiff brush in the finest, it's soft but very, very firm.
The style 3 large in finest is a monster of a brush and is not too practical for every day use, although it does produce lots of lather.
I don't have a style 2 in finest but I do have the super and it is a good brush too.

How is the medium any way? isn't it to large?
Also
Why style 1? it seem to be the cheper one of them and the smallst one when it comes to hight
Can you please explain me more?
I really don't know what to choose

I have a couple of brushes that are, heck, I dunno what they are. Maybe those who have them can tell me what I have, but what I do know is that one is close to the style 1 handle. I think that is the white one that Gordon has. The other is a black handled one and I dont know who got one of those like me. The white one is a little more dense then the black one, but both of them are my favorite brushes

I don't know
After talking with Leisureguy I think of getting the style 2 small - I love more hight with the hair and softer one
Also I make lather on the face, and I allready have a big size 26mm brush

What do you think about it?

ead, If you like a more...a....flexible bristle, and don't mind the smallish size, then, by all means, the Style 2 Small might be the ticket. My view, however, is that if that is the sort of brush you want, then, the less expensive Kent BK4 might meet your needs just as well.

Yes, as mentioned the Style 1 Medium is very nice. Very, very nice... But a small will also do just fine. I have a Style 3 Small also and it is a wonderful brush.
