Hey, guys:

3 hour phone conversation TODAY with the Managing Director of Rooney. He has reset his U.S. debut to February 1st.

Charles,

You read my mind. I was just composing an email to you regarding this exact situation.

Thanks for the update!

Chris ...

The word ... hmmmm ... certainly not going to make February 1st. Surprise, surprise! This is what it's like dealing with small firms outside the U.S. I provide dates as given to me by Rooney ... but I guess I should have made it clear, with these small companies, "it happens when it happens". For certain, Rooney is moving forward ... but frustratingly slow. This is simply the way it is with firms who hand-craft products.

Maybe some time in March .... maybe!

I will get the word out when I have information I consider SOLID.

Sorry, Chris, for the nebulous information.

Regards,
Charles

So, for those who have Rooney envy, do you want one because of its performance, or is it the elusiveness of the Rooney that is so attractive? How would you compare them to Simpsons? (Charles, I know you can't answer that.) What is the price range on Rooneys?

Jackie,

Charles is perhaps the only person who can answer your questions regarding rooney. As a side note rooney is the oldest brush firm in england. Simpson is the youngest one of the bunch.

If Charles will answer it, that would be great. I just assumed, though, that since he is a retailer, he avoids the appearance of partiality, especially on a subject as heated as brush brand preference.

Gents:

I am mainly disappointed with shaving brushes at the "upper end". No, you do not need a "silvertip" to enjoy wet shaving ... my opinion, anyway. But for those chaps who want one, it's becoming more and more confusing.

Hi, Charles. I, along with previous forum repliers, would be very interested in the pricing of the Rooney brushes. Would you have an idea of their price range, especially their silertip model(s)? If you have handled a Rooney in the past, how would you rate it/them to, say, Vulfix, Kent, or any of the other popular quality brushes? :?:
Luigi shaves with a DE, but would shave more with his Str8s if he had the time.

Steve:

Nothing new to report ....

It was my impression from my last conversation with them that March would definitely be THE month for something to be available. Let me see if I can get an update (it would be easier trying to contact God).

Steve ...

Just got off the phone with Rooney ... the managing director is off in France at the moment. I was told by the MD's right hand man that the MD is very busy at the moment. Unfortunately, that type of excuse does not fly with me because, quite frankly, I have yet to come across the person who works harder than me ... this is not bragging on my part, but just to demonstrate I do not accept "very busy" as an excuse, especially during this era of high speed communication. The way I left it with the right hand man is this ... WHEN does Rooney intend to launch in the U.S.?

Hello Charles,

Tomorrow will be the middle of march......anything new from Rooney on the brushes, or Vulfix on the cream?

Steve:

Relatively LONG meaningless conversation with the Managing Director's partner last week (the MD was supposedly in France at the time). I though I would hear from the MD upon his return, on the 7th, but nothing. So at this point I have no idea what Rooney is thinking.

Vulfix creams are schedule to depart England this week. Normally takes about 10 days to get here.

RJ -

Your warning is appreciated.

I have 20 years experience dealing with all kinds of characters around the world ... smiling, good natured chaps, with a sack full of promises are not unfamiliar to me.
