Brushes: Anything new coming out in the near future?

Post by ARenaissanceMan »

Seeing as I'm home now and attempting to relearn how to shave, I thought it a good time to invest in a new brush. Basically, I'm wondering if it's wise to wait a few weeks/months for an impending release, or just choose from what's already on the market. Talk amongst yourselves.

Ah, where to start. Will this be a soap brush or a cream brush?

If that's true its because somebody cornered the market.

I've not heard of anything "new" to be offered, except that Plisson is suppossedly going to have a special '200th Anniversary' commenerative special....which I assume will be too rich for my blood. Shoot, there are so many top quality brushes available now, why worry about what further might be introduced in the future? Time to start purusing those websites now, my good man.

I have heard no announcements, or even rumors. I would say go ahead and choose something.

Get one that's out now. A Rooney, a Simpson, a Kent, etc....
All nice brushes, it's just a matter of your budget. :)

I wonder what the chances are that it's soft and flexible.

Yes Tim, I guess you could say I am. Out of all the brushes I have seen or read about, the Plisson is the only one I lust over, think about all the time and have serious brush envy over whenever a gent here talks about his Plisson. But, I know what I like in a brush and it isn't what Plisson currently offers.......if it did, I would pay a kings ransom for one!

Afaik an engraved horn handled #20 with a "special" variant of HMW badger. 200 pieces will be made for world wide distribution. I think they will show up on the market in august. No price available yet.

Shouldn't that read "199 pieces will be made for world wide distribution and one will go right to Peter"?

200 brushes doesn't sound like a lot. I wonder if they will number them 1/200, 2/200.....200/200?

Is it my becks induced imagination or are these going to turn out to be MAJOR collector pieces....you know the ones that enable you to finance your retirement?

Peter, Okay then. Sounds lovely, and I look forward to you photos, as there's little doubt that it'll be plenty expensive ( chuckle ).
