Kent A7 in Real Ivory

Post by diggity »

Gents, I recently came across this Kent A7 shaving brush in real ivory, and I am glad I bought it. It just arrived today from the UK and is simply one of the best looking brushes I have seen. I haven't heard of an A7 being offered by Kent, so I am not sure how old it is. But, it is a pretty good size. The brush came with an original Kent box. Enough with the blabber, here's the some eye candy:

Very, very nice, Nathan. How do you find these things?
Best,
Chris

Sometimes, it feels like I travel across the world, through the Himalayans and sometimes into small quaint towns in the UK

Looks like an early Chubby or Tubby! I'd post details on the Kent Facebook pages - the fans would be very interested and Kent should come up with more information about it.

Swank. Posh handle and darn nice grade of 'Pure' badger hair too!
Glad he finally made it & will live-out his final days in California.

That's one raw looking brush, and raw in a good way; nice score!

Striking to say the least, as full of character as a brush could be.

I'm really interested to hear about the history of this brush and how old it is. I have emailed Kent and they are looking into it. I will update as soon as I hear back. I haven't seen an ivory brush look like this before.

Were it not for the sticker and stamp I would say it's a one off artisan job. Did Kent offer a custom service? The numbered series implies regular production.

I don't know if they offered that or not. And I agree with you, it looks like a one off. I do know that this brush belonged to an British Army Colonel, but that's about it. Kent says so far that it's over 30 years old (as the lady helping me has been there that long and has never seen one of these).

Wonder if he shot the previous owner of the ivory.
