T&H Wellington.

Post by OleDub »

Hi All,

Just referring to my previous post in search of my Grail Brush; can anyone confirm:

a) The T&H Wellington is a rebranded Rooney.

b) The size (overall/knot and loft) of the medium.

c) Where it fits in terms of scritch/scratch between a BK8 and commodore

I've been made a great offer on this brush from the guy I buy my cologne from.

Any thoughts appreciated.

The Dub,

Looking for a fit in between these two, logistically (size) and mechanically (stiffness/scratch)

Narrowed it down to the Colonel, the T&H Weely and the 'Mac 22714.

Any others worth considering before I drop a dollar?

'Dub, I don't know about the size, but I can say the Shavemacs are some of the best brushes around. If that one turns out to be your choice, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do my Shavemac 220, which is a big brush.

Dub, Yeah, that series of T&H brushes are from Rooney. Interestingly, when the Rooney brushes first reappeared ( after Lee Sabini took charge ) one could get the Finest models much less expensively at the T&H shop in London than they were selling for stateside from online vendors. It was a most unusual situation as normally brushes house branded from these old upper crust London shops cost more than the same brush with the manufacturer's name on it.

" that series of T&H brushes are from Rooney"

Thanks Gordon, that's what I wanted to know. I still can't get the height/loft/ knot sizes. Any info on these. Looks like this is my next brush.

Dub, Not specifically, but you should be able to get that information on the same brush with a Rooney label from any vendor that stocks them; Classic Shaving perhaps?
