The Simpson Inner Sanctum ...
Something for you kind gentlemen to enjoy:
http://youtu.be/2vH3zx1a9R4
I'll be posting up more clips of the Simpson brush making process in an effort to shed some light on the 'dark practices' of hand-made knot forming.

I enjoyed seeing the process. I'm curious about the setting and glueing part.

Fantastic, Mark--Just curious when the pearl barley syrup comes into play
I would be curious to know more about the process you show where the adhesive is applied. The metal spike contraption was very interesting. I wonder if this is exclusive to Simpsons or if Vulfix (and other manufacturers) also uses it....

Mark, you're a natural. I'd rather watch you than Simon Cowell.

Brilliant, Mark.
Nothing like an authentic accent ---- I enjoyed listening to you talk as much as I enjoyed hearing the content.
Very cool to see this .... I'll never see my Duke 2 Best Badger (or my Wee Scott for that matter) in the same light ever again. I know you advocate the paint-brush technique but as a face latherer, I do admit that I still find that I prefer the gentle swirling action to the face for building the best lather. I love fanning my brush -- I couldn't stop doing it when I first unpacked it back in May ... Oh such wonderful products. Now't like be'spoke British product.
Oh -- what radio station are you listening to in the background???? Not that it matters, but I loved the apparent irony of a bespoke production facility and Taylor Swift (Never, Never, Never ..... ) got a kick out of that for sure.

Thanks Mark! Unfortunately my computer was unable to clearly pick-up the sound track but at least I got to see the visuals. It's just so...I dunno...reassuring to know that a product like Simpson brushes are still being made....properly!

Re: The Simpson Inner Sanctum ...
It seems that my brush investments so far have been "other than" Simpson's. I suppose the right one will come along one of these days. Mark's postings are certainly helpful along with all of the positive remarks from the SMF family . I'm sure my day will come!bernards66 wrote: .reassuring to know that a product like Simpson brushes are still being made....properly!

Re: The Simpson Inner Sanctum ...
Thank you for taking the time to record & share these videos Mark. Something I would also be interested in, is a bit of history/lore of Progress-Vulfix. Progress & Vulfix were two separate brush firms correct? I think their histories even pre-dates Simpsons? Any interesting/obscure handles from the vault, or tasty tidbits, concerning your 'other' brush company? No hurry to reply about any of this either. You & all the staff there, have a terrific remainder of your Autumn season.

Forgot to add that I love the accent, and could listen to your lot talk for hours on end.
