The Simpson Phyl8 LE Brush

Post by BullGoose »

I know that there are many Simpson fans on Shave My Face so thought I would post this here. Mark is making a limited edition brush for the Shave Nook that is based on the 0ld P8, also known as the Phyl8. These brushes will be available on the Shave Nook in a few days and they will be shipped directly from Simpson (payment will also be made directly to Simpson).

The brushes will only be available to Shave Nook members so you may want to join. It never hurts to belong to more than one shaving forum. :D

That was fun to watch. Like ants going after a snack. Good thing is, the order form is back open so brushes can be ordered now.

Nearly half of the 200 brushes are already sold and it hasn't even been 24 hours. =D>

Nice looking brush - my stable is full and I like all the brushes in it, or I would consider buying one. It also looks as if Simpson has shifted to "Great Britain" rather than "England".

My #72 arrived in today's post. It's a very handsome brush. I'll be initiating it first thing tomorrow morning.

The change from England to Great Britain was the subject of much debate on The Shave Nook, seeing that the Isle of Man is neither part of England nor part of Great Britain, nor for that matter the United Kingdom. It is a self-governing dependency of the British Crown, as are the Channel Islands, with its own tax and legislative system. It seems that Progress Vulfix is trying to retain a semblance of Simpson's heritage as an English company following the move of the company to the Isle of Man. It would have been correct if they had changed the label to read "British Isles", which includes the Isle of Man, Great Britain, Ireland, the Channel Islands and a myriad of other islands. Notwithstanding this inexactitude I shall not cease buying Simpson's brushes.

No. 59 has landed in Massachusetts, USA. Old sticker (I'm good with that), beautiful and surprisingly large brush.

Thank you. It is really beautiful. I have not seem it in daylight yet as it came late in the day. Tomorrow will take a look at it in natural light. Should be even prettier. My next shave is on Wednesday, so I will not be shaving with it tomorrow. But look for it in my Wednesday's SOTD.

Bryan, I noticed that change and I don't get it either. Progress Vulfix has been on the Isle of Man for decades now and the Vulfix brushes that I've seen always said 'Made in England' on them....sooo....why the change now? Doesn't seem to make much sense.

During WW11 a Scotsman's son was killed and a British Officer delivering the eulogy commented on sacrifice for England when the old man interrupted to say, "You English always say England when what you mean is Great Britain".
