Kent P12

Located one of these discontinued Kents, large knot with the clear plexi handle. The case was a bit shopworn, but the NIB brush was even bigger than I had expected. Just what I was hoping for, but fearing I'd never find such a brush. I thought my Thater was rather large, but it actually looks small next to the Kent. I almost forgot to add, the bloom is gargantuan, in the same league as the giant Plisson. And very soft on the face, I might add.

Big brushes have an interesting feel to smaller lofts. I love my C&E Super Badger --- it's not perhaps as huge as the P12, but it's the largest I own.

I'm glad you fellas enjoy your larger brushes, BK4 is the largest caliber I'll need.

I'm not familiar with the P12 but I did have a BK12 and it was way to large for me. I have to agree with Squire on this one, the BK4 is about as large as I would care to go.

To be fair -- I like my smaller brushes as much as my larger ones. I suppose, for me, it's all in the variety.

I'm trying to find the word that describes someone who has a promiscuous attitude toward shaving brushes. It doesn't come to mind but I'm pretty sure it's legal.

I ran a Google Image search for P-series brushes, since I thought the P8 would be a good alternative to the Shavemac 163. That's when I ran across a comparison shot of the P8 and P12. You can set up base camp under the -12's bloom; a mighty brush, indeed. Looks like you found El Dorado, Gary.

Squire, maybe it's like pornography, hard to define but I know it when I see it.

Upon re-discovering how great the Castle Forbes SC is, I tried other brushes, but was looking for a giant premium silvertip badger that would be worthy of such an excellent shaving cream. I remembered my Kent P12 and found it safely resting in it's pretty red box. WOW! These two monsters are a perfectly matched pair. This morning I splashed a teaspoon or so of hot water on top of the cream, then I loaded the dry Kent on the watery tub for 10 seconds exactly. I added more scalding tap water to the latherng bowl as needed, and ended up with a legendary lather. This big giant of a brush is the definition of a lathering version of Elizabeth Taylor and the Castle Forbes is her Richard Burton. Unbelievable matchup, if i may be so humble to say so. Here's a picture ---
