I asked for one for a Fathers Day and got one...my first badger brush.
Much softer than the boar, I immediately tried it to make a test lather. It's significantly different than the VDH boar brush.
Interesting.

By all means, enjoy! Members develop their shaving kit favourites mainly from personal experience and that varies. For myself, badger brushes are all I use. I used a boar brush for years but the first time I tried a badger one ( and it was a relatively inexpensive one at that ) well, that was all she wrote...I never looked back. While some use both badger and boar brushes ( or even synthetics ) and a few say that they prefer boar bristle models, for me it's badger brushes all the way.

Gents:
Sorry if my initial post seemed obvious and/or cryptic.
I've been using VDH cheapo boar brushes for at least 10 years ... the majority of that time I was also using Williams shave soap. The badger brush is (obviously) significantly different as the bristles are much softer and a bit "floppy" compared to the boar bristles.
I had to go back and re-watch Mantic's lathering video. I made a test lather last night before bed and I think I have it figured out.
Cheers-
Dave

Re: VDH Luxury Line Badger Brush
Dave, Yeah, they are a little different but for me, I found that it was actually easier to make a really good lather with a badger brush than it was using a boar bristle one. Sounds like you're getting it sorted out.
