Can badgers swim?

Post by blantyre »

When I was in the pool earlier today I got to wondering whether badgers can swim. Judging by how much water a good badger brush can hold, it seemed as if they would have a hard time staying afloat. Any thoughts on this matter?

Sure, they can swim though I don't think they do it for recreation.

Never mind about swimming, I am always fascinated by the ability of a good badger brush to hold and release lather - two qualities that seem at odds with each other. Magic, that.

As members of the weasel family I expect they can also float but I don't know if that has anything to do with releasing lather.
