Hi Mark. It's comforting to know that Simpson's is in good hands. You're definitely among friends here at SMF. All the best to you.

Good to see you're still around, Mark!
Like Chris, none of my Simpson's brushes have had any shedding issues whatsoever, so those problems seem to be long gone, and good riddance! 8)

I hope you are referring to my Manx Simpsons, as I did. I have several wretched Somerset shedders, that live on the Wall of Shame as they are unusable.

I actually refer to all of them, Chris. Perhaps I've been fortunate, but none of my Simpson's brushes are shedders, Somerset or Vulfix. I do have considerably more Vulfix then Somerset ones, so that may also explain part of my good fortune.

Sorry if I seemed tetchy. I also have more Manx brushes than Somerset brushes. The Somersets sometimes shed, but they all have hair that outclasses—by far— anything made since.

I'd have to respectfully disagree Chris based on taking ownership & examining / using several hundred vintage Simpson's during our acquisition of the company.

But, as with all these discussions it's very much a case of YMMV.

Zero (either Somerset or Manx) shedders in my (diminished) stable....

Hey Peter, it's good to see your post.
I don't recall any shedding on my Somersets. I did have a newer Simpson and it shed quite a bit. The issue was resolved and the replacement hasn't shed.
I guess YMMV.
