homemade brush

Post by Oscar11 » Tue Nov 19, 2019 7:51 am

I've been wanting to make a large badger brush (something in the Chubby 2 size class) for a while now so last time I was in Denver I picked up a few chunks of exotic hardwood with the idea of making a handle or two. Anyways, I got a few handles out of this piece of wood and still have a nice hunk of rosewood remaining.

Nice work on the brush! I have a number of brushes with resin handles, most of them have neat swirls in them. Still, they don't capture my imagination like a nicely-figured wood handle.

I don't do a lot of wood handles. Despite dust collectors and masks the dust kills my sinuses. Exotic hardwoods are the worst. I can avoid most of the dust by wet sanding the acrylic handles.
