shampooing a brush?

Post by Sam »

here is something i learned from joel f: shampoo your badger brush. i tried it today and went to check on it tonight. first, it smelt great and it felt so soft. dont know that i would use conditioner on it, but that shampoo did the trick. will see how it lathers tomorrow. anyone compare this to the borax solution?

I was thinking of doing that...I mean it IS hair, after all, so it should work. Do let us know how the brush performs tommorrow!

I'll be sitting when the evening comes

And I watch 'em roll away again

this did not affect the lathering and may have helped it hold more water. someone on the yahoo straightrazors forum suggested using conditioner

How exactly would you go about shampooing the brush? Do you lather it up with shampoo in your cup/hand just like shaving cream? Or do you dilute it with water?
