Used/vintage brushes??

Post by growler »

Are they worth bothering, especially if it's real badger, cheap?

Or do they lose effectiveness over the years?

I think its hit or miss. I have a vulfix silvertip I got used as part of a package, and it works great; however I have seen people trying to sell things on ebay that I wouldn't let in the house without checking my tetanus shots first.....

Growler,

It really depends on how well they are taken care of and how good the construction is. I have a pure badger brush from EverReady, it belonged to my Grandfather and is 70-80 years old. Has it seen better days? Yes. Does it work as well as it did when it was brand new? No.

But it still works well and I have now given it to my son to use as his first brush.

Paul.
