Let's talk about single and double edged razors and the blades that they use.

Another person joins the gold 66 club

Post by Cigar Dan »

I thought this razor might go under the radar, but I was wrong. I set a sizable snipe on it, but was outsniped at the end. The winner is martin5773--the man seemingly determined to own all of the best razors, and with deep enough pockets to give it a real go.

Congratulations to martin5773, the newest member of the club! :)

Yep, nice razor. I thought the same thing, that it will go under the radar, especialy since it remained at 29Euros for one week. Wrong, Wrong...
Oh well... others will come (I hope so).

Thanks to my new software program I saw that one just 3 minutes after it was listed. It ended up way outside my strikezone however...Martin has quite the appetite. I met a European Seller though who I think has most likely the finest Gillette Collection that I've seen. He emailed me a Power Point Presentation showing just the tip of the iceberg of his collection. IMPRESSIVE. QUALITY & quantity.

at least he was kept reasonably "honest" in the price he had to pay for it by competition from other bidders.

I bid on that one, but knew I wasn't going to come even close to the final bid.

I wish eBay auction completion records went back 2, 3, ..5 years so I could view deals like these when they were double digits instead of triple...what will be the trend going forward I always wonder....5 years form now will they be back to prior levels? I guess all depends on how much growth happens in the wet shaving marketplace. When I discovered it only in December of 2006 I likened it to the Poker Boom...which I see is now waining....will the same happen for wet shaving and the collectors who have propped up these high prices?

One more Gold 66 that I own...notice it is a money clip and after 90plus days here...it is empty....
