I'm surprised that there has been no review of the Merkur blade yet.
I know it's not a popular blade however they are easy to get hold of
in Canada and I've never had any problems shaving with them.
I'm very interested to see how they rate on Squire's scale.

I'm sure he would review them if you send him a pack. :-)

New to these pages, but am greatly enjoing reading the posts of like-minded people! However, am unable to access the DE blade comparison via the links in the post here - I just get a xylophone-type 'bong' noise when I try, and can't get any further. I don't know how to contact anybody connected with the web-site, so can anybody here suggest whether I'm doing something wrong at my end, or whether the site isn't working properly? Squire's Blade Reviews

Hello all,
This is my first post on this forum, very glad to have found such an informative and supportive guide to everything a man needs to know about shaving with a DE razor. I have been shaving with a Merkur Futur for about a year and a half, what a difference it makes not using those hyped up multi blade options with cans of gel/cream.
Must say well done Squire for such an in-depth review of all these different blades. I have just ordered 100 Derby’s, 10 Feathers, 100 Russian 7 o’clock Gillette’s and 10 of those Israeli blades. Looking forward to trying out the Feathers after reading Squire’s review. Albeit I’m ready for a very close shave by all accounts.

Thanks for all your hard work and time. This has helped me choose blades to try the sharper the better. :D

Bit behind on the reviews, kb lost his camera in a corn field in SD during our recent hunting trip and the one I bought for E has a battery that has to be recharged and we keep forgetting to transfer that the cord back from the office to the house. Several hundred photos on mine during the holidays and it was too much work to scroll through just to post a couple. Got it sorted out.

Great Thanks

Hi Pete,

I've tried quite a few, I bought a sample pack of the net. So far I have been quite impressed with the Feathers, Merkurs and the Russian Gillettes.
Believe it or not, I really liked a cheap brand called Elios, not sure where they are from but they sound Greek. Some of the Indian and Pakistani blades have been so so. They don't seem to be as sharp.
