Who made this razor?

Let's talk about single and double edged razors and the blades that they use.

Please crop the background out of those pictures - it takes forever to load the full-size versions.

I'm not trying to be funny, but it resembles a broken two blade disposable.

I just realized that it's a disposable slant bar razor, made by the Disposable Slant Bar & Popsicle Company.

Bump...

Okay, a little more information now. A friend of mine was using this razor to shave her leg when the blade came out of the head. It cut her shin to the bone along about a 6" area before she realized what was going on. She thinks she remembers buying it at Kmart, but she didn't save the packaging and it has no markings on it. Anyone know who might be able to help is identify it? Thanks.

Really looks a lot like a Gillette Blue II or a knockoff

It is definitely a Gilette knockoff. It has a few minor differences--no branding or markings whatsoever, and the grooves on the handle are at an angle instead of going straight up and down.

Kmart carries a bunch of Korean and Chinese knock offs...you might try there. Or your nearest independent dollar store...

dmort, I can't help you to identify the razor, but I see that these are your first posts here and I would like to welcome you to SMF. :)

I'm sorry to hear of your friend's misfortune and I hope you are able to bring this to a satisfactory conclusion.

Daren, unfortunately, it's a focus of this forum to educate others to not buy junk like that.

That being said, gentlemen, the next time you're at K or Walmart, or maybe a dollar store, let's see if we can make a mental note and take a quick look for these guys and report back; you know, a strength in numbers kind of thing.

It looks alot like some that I picked up at a Dollar General store a while back. I will look again when I get home--I know that I still have a couple of them and I may have the original packaging. I'll let you know.

UPDATE:
I checked my DGs and they are not the same.
