Let's talk about single and double edged razors and the blades that they use.

Something like a Feather...

Hey Folks,

Anybody know of a blade which is as sharp/smooth as a Feather, but something that isn't as harsh on the face ?
Kind Regards, Ben

You ought to know Ben you've got enough of them! hand strop a Swede and wonder how a blade that you can't feel is cutting as close as a feather. Thats my recent experience anyway.

With all respect to Squire, I think the 7 O'Clocks are slightly less sharp than feathers. Silver Star blades OTOH feel just as sharp as a feather, but are much smoother IMHO. That said, I like the 7 O'Clocks better than Silver Stars.

Absolutely, you should try it, its quite simple and safe and you'd be amazed at how it affects the blade. Makes them last longer and makes them even smoother. It works with any blade but try it on a Swede, its awesome.

Do you do it with the blade inside the razor or in the bare hand ? And just on a normal strop yes ?

I'm not sure where else to buy them with R&B down for the time being.

Erik, nothing is as sharp as a Feather, I read the question as asking for second choices.

Ben, frankly I don't know. I have several packs and just haven't gotten around to try them as yet.
Don't know how Squire does it. So many blades, so little time.

Well, Ben, I just read the B&B review and naturally, just like most things, going to have to try it myself and see.
The good thing is, the SS are readily available, though that my not be a good thing. Well see.

I've got a few packs and I've shaved with a few blades and for me they shave just like they look which is like a Swede without being a Swede - nearly as sharp, nearly as smooth, nearly as long lasting: a good blade.
