Post by Ross-kl »

Hi I'm mulling over the Merkur Heavy Classic 34c, was wondering if anyone else is using one and what do they think to it? Cheers

the 34C is maybe merkurs most popular razor, it is what put them on the map so to speak.

its close cousin is the slant.

its aggressive and shaves wonderful. for me personally i have grown to love the longer handle models like the barberpole.

basically the razor head is the same.

its a staple of the line, and if you havent figured it out.

im a merkur fan big time

The 34C is my main razor and it's the one I reach for about 90% of the time. When I veer away for a while, I always come back to it.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm itching to pull the trigger on a purchase here. Can I ask what blades you guys are using? I'm thinking about the Featherlight blades.

I'm currently enjoying SuperMax Super Platinums in my HD. I use many different brands of blades, but these are among the best in that razor.

I'm partial to the Personna Prep "hospital use" blades. If you want me to send you a few to try, send me a PM with your address.

Hi! In my 34C and 38C I use these blades with satisfaction:
Israeli Blues, AsSPlats, Kai, and both Shark Stainless and Super Chrome. Also, the Russian Yellows from Gillette in St. Petersburg.

When the Wet Shave God is in a beneficent mood -and the lather has been whipped properly- I get marvelous results with these.
