Identifying Gillette Razors

Post by Ouchmychin »

Quite a while ago there was a thread showing how to get to information on identifying the model and year of Gillette razors by the code stamped on the head. Does anyone else know where that info. is? If so, maybe you could post it again and maybe it would be worthy of a Sticky status.
Thanks,
Pete

Thanks RonCall. It looks like mine is a Tech made in the first quarter of 1953. That jibes with my memory of when I bought it. Used it today and got a wonderful shave from a new Israeli Persona Platinum. It is well worn with copper showing through underneath where I had to use ZUD and a toothbrush to get enough crud off to read the code. Almost missed the y because it is so tiny and corrosion pits didn't help.
