o'chelly razor

Hi guys, hope i am posting in the right forum, i am trying to find out more about this razor.

The only markings is "o'chelly" on the handle. and it weighs 37 grams.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it made of aluminum?

I would say it is aluminium by the feel of it.

Thought it might be. Obviously the handles close and latch to hold the blade in place. Have you tried to shave with it?

Yep, i did have a shave with it, it was a pretty average shave, i was being very careful with it, but way to light for my liking.

I should think that due to design it would have to be made to very close tolerances or the blade will wobble a bit.

The blade felt very secure, but the handle is very loose.

I checked Waits Compendium, found your razor and was led to the patent holder, "Williams" which uses the same design and probably made yours. It's found on page W14 and continues to at least page W15.

There is your model and at least one other with a toggle at the bottom holding the 2 halves together.

The manufacturer, Williams, was in Glastonbury CT.

Interesting design.
