so since i started blade testing every time i got a cut on the first shave with a new blade it eventually becomes my favorite blade and with blades i hate that didn't happen :roll:. :lol:

Hi Jordan -

Definitely YMMV! I'm guessing this is because you prefer blades on the sharper side.

Some claim that the first shave from any of a number of blades tends to be harsh, smoothing out with the second or third shave. If that's what you're referring to, I hand-strop my blades, especially before the first use, and that seems to eliminate that first harsh shave for me.

the funny part i also cut my self with a derby blade which is my favorite so far, but i also like nacets which are sharper but i do agree with the first shave is rough and get better as you use them at least for some blades

Most blades are not a problem with me.

This is mostly a test to learn this site.
