I picked up a cased Valencia O/C slant on ebay a few days ago. When it arrived it looked a bit rough but some scrubbing bubbles and a very light polish brought it up to a very nice finish. There are a very few posts about these on the forums but I couldn't find out all that much. It's French, probably dates from the 1950s era. The chrome? plate quality seems to be a bit better than Leresche and Kirby Beard razors that I've seen.
The head has a strong helix and there is a sizable blade exposure with open comb. It looks very aggressive. However, as others have reported, its quite moderate - not exactly mild but certainly no Barbasol floating head or Muhle. It does give a close shave with minimal fuss - much as do the other French razors from that era. Definitely a keeper and a very nice less common razor.

Re: Valencia Razor
Interesting.
Some day I ought to try a slant to see what they're all about.
