Chicom Gillette Sword
Chicom Gillette Sword
Recently, a blade vendor e-mailed me that he had some Gillette Sword blades made in China if I was interested. He sent me some free samples that arrived today and I am perplexed. There is nothing on the pkg. or blade that states Wilkinson whatsoever. As well, they appear to be CARBON steel blades!!!

I have no idea why these photos appear gigantic here. Website parameters changed?

Re: Chicom Gillette Sword
Interesting. I didn't think carbon steel blades were made anymore after the Treet Black Beauties went out of production. Let us know how they perform
Re: Chicom Gillette Sword
I'd be curious to know more about them.
Tucker, Treet still makes several carbon steel blades. One of my favorites among all blades is the Treet Dura-Sharp, which is PTFE-coated carbon steel.

Re: Chicom Gillette Sword
I like the Treet Silver blades which are also carbon steel. I get 2 really fine shaves out of them and then they quit working for me. But those 2 shaves are really nice.
Re: Chicom Gillette Sword
Well, these are clearly fake. I couldn't get farther than 1/2" on two attempts. Well, at least they were free.

Yet the disillusionment of use remains long after the sweetness of easy acquisition is gone.

Re: Chicom Gillette Sword
I actually think it's impressive that anyone would bother to counterfeit razor blades. $100 bills make sense, high end watches and expensive colognes but DE blades?

Re: Chicom Gillette Sword
I suspect it's easier to get away with counterfeiting things like razor blades that don't draw the attention of the authorities like high end goods or money. All you need is a building, some equipment, cheap labor and absolutely no scruples.
