Astra Superior Platiunm vs. Astra Superior Stainless

Post by Tucker »

Astra SP's (Green/ White) are some of the most well regarded blades on the shaving forums. They are hugely popular, but they have never seemed to work for me. I've tried them in a variety of different razors, and they seem smooth, but very dull to me. However, I tried the Asta SS (Blue/ White) in a Merkur Model 45 Bakelite today, and got a glorious shave on par with my favorite Polsilver SI's in this razor. Both Astra varieties are a good value, and certainly worth trying.

Thanks for passing that along to the rest of us, Tucker. It's worth keeping in mind.

Tucker, I agree with you. I have used both Astra versions and much prefer the SS. They are sharper! I have accumulated several hundred of them.
Best regards,
