Post by yasuo200365 »

How about starting a thread where there isn't much text & no comments from admirers, but just nice pictures of beautiful, strange or rare razors?

The forum equivalent of a coffee table book full of glossy photographs.

I would hope the longevity of this thread will rival Lux's "EverReady GEM - Best Shaves Yet" thread.

While I figure out how to post a photograph on this forum maybe some of you can get started?

Regards
John

Early Ever-Ready single edge razor, probably intended for wedge blades that can be honed and stropped, though current Gem disposable blades will work fine:

German engineering:

Hoffritz Slant Bar
Gold or Brass? Only one I've ever seen with this type of plating.

Unknown manufacturer, most likely German
Notice it slants the opposite way from a Merkur/Hoffritz/Coles/Pomco

A Schick patent drawing of an interesting plastic DE razor perhaps never made by Schick, that I think is the design for the recent Turkish "Cic Bey" praised by andrew_sam3 (see http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/viewto ... c&start=25)

Until Themba shows up with some goodies, I'll plug his gallery, which features some very early safety razors:
