Eric, you have some nice work here. I don't have any Merkur razors nor have I even seen one in person. That metal knob makes such a huge difference in the look of the Progress that a plain old plastic know looks so cheap. Shame on Merkur.

That Tech is a nice combination of new and old. Keep posting pics of your creations.

When I get some more experience with my DE shaving (and money), I will probably be contacting you for a complete Progress.

All right, Eric, now you've done it! :?

As a Gillette Tech devotee, I have been slightly tempted to try a Mergress as the only way I would pick up a Merkur. Now you had to offer a handle for the Gillette Tech and I'm finding it very hard to resist.

How much is a handle for the Tech?
Do you offer it in different shapes?
Do you offer it in gold?

Thanks, Eric -

Hey There Murray,

$40 shipped in the US for the handle.

Smooth round polished, hexagonal. abrasive blasted finish very similar to the Futur and Vision.

Brass/gold is not problem at all.

I actually have the above one ready to ship.

What can I do for you?

my first post as i am a lurker here and have learned a lot. my first razor was a merkur progress and i didn't like the plastic knob and sent it to mer and had him modify it with the stainless knob and I'm here to say it looks great and has changed the whole look. it matches the handle and made it a show piece.a 100% happy :)

Thank You Randy. Glad you're happy with my work.

Spring is here!

What a perfect time for a brand new Progress with a shiny stainless adjustment knob.

:D

An independent study revealed that whiskers prefer to be shaved with a stainless knobbed Progress as opposed to the stock plastic version......

Thanks Everyone,

Eric

What's the length of the handle on the Tech? The main reason I don't use mine anymore is that I've found that I do much better with longer handled razors. Might have to reconsider..
