Post by Barbiere di Figaro »

Hello SMF-members,

With the Code "SMF" you can now get a 5 % discount on your whole order!

The 5 % will also be deducted from products we already had on discount. So for the Proraso 150ml! jar, you pay € 2,80!
And for the Real Italian Floid, it's only € 22,75 for a bottle.

Just check out the site, we're having some great deals right now.

Bye,

Eric

Anyone else having a problem opening this web site? My browser crash's when I try to open it, or rather aborts the opening.

Difficulty logging in?

Hi Whistler,

The link is alright: it starts with a rather large picture of some Italian sites.

If you want to skip that and go right to our store, you might be able to do that with this link:

http://www.tuttoitaliaonline.nl/winkel/

Does that work for you?

Good luck,

Eric

Hi Whistler,

I'm afraid that it's new to me. I haven't changed too much, besides the products. So, if anyone else could have a try and let us know? I'm curious why this happens. My hosting company is always online and whenever I try to log in, it never gives me any trouble.

Can someone else try because with the links I gave you, I can go right the shop.

Maybe (nut that's wishful thinking, we have too many users at the same time but I don't think so)

I'll post the link tot the Floid blue pic, so you might check that one.

I haven't any problems using Firefox 3.5.5.

I'm not terribly computer literate, but I have an HP computer that I bought last May. It has Windows Vista as an OS and the bundled Internet Explorer.

I am able to open all the links provided here without problem.

Hi Nate,

It's not an excuse, but with Joomla I could automatically translate menus and some other things like the shopping cart etc.

(You've probably seen the flags in the upper right corner)

I'd sure like to have everything translated but that's quite a lot of work. Most descriptions of the products will have not too much news for most people that know these products. Especially the Proraso line is very known. (on quite a lot of forums you can find great and extensive reviews)

If there's anything you want us to explain, then you can ask it here, PM me, or ask it on our site. I'd like to help you or anyone else.

Btw, I sometimes have to read Italian sites and Google gives a pretty good translation of it. You could try that.

Good luck Nate!

Problems opening our site

Post by Barbiere di Figaro »

Although I thought that it was not our site, but maybe the browser someone used, it seemed that some new gadget in Joomla caused some browsers to stall and they could no longer load the first index page. After I removed this gadget, everything went well again.

Wednesday Dec 15, very frustrating, wanted to see Cella, can't seem to get the page to show English, US Dollar, and navigate to Cella products. After the first page, it just says it can't complete the operation. I'll check back in a while.

Hi Gary, I'm very sorry to hear that. I first thought that it had to be your browser, but that wasn't it. It was something I hadn't seen, but by copying some config-file from my local pc to the server, the config file still wanted to do the checkout and other things locally. That's what you found out for us, and I'm very happy that you took the time to wrote that to us and here.

It should work now again and I hope you want to try again.

As for the transalations: I managed to add English to the menus, the shopping cart etc. Those are all the "regular" items on our site. As for the descriptions and extra info on our products, we would have to add the English ourselves. This is no problem but will take a little more time than we have right now.

As for the currency-conversion: It should work now, but we have had an issue there when it comes to checking out and the calculation of Paypal. There's an easy way around it and that's to calculate with Euros until Paypal does the conversion. But when I choose USDollar, and click on "Selecteer Valuta", the Euros are changed into USD just fine.

To assure you and others: We're definitely not Amazon (I mean, we personally check our orders) and there's nothing happening a customer doesn't want. You can (if our shop works or if your browser works) if you think that there's something not right, always mail us and we'll get things done. I recently helped out an American customer with two bottles of Floid. After we helped him with the currency-conversion, everything went smooth and he got the bottles within 8 days after he had ordered.

Greatly appreciated your post Gary.
Hope that you will try again and ofcourse you could mail us for any pricequotes, amounts, etc.

Bye and good luck,

Eric

Eric --- Ahhh! Yes, now we're in great shape. Thanks! I want to also thank you for the personalized email response you sent me in response to my question about a product.

De Vergulde Hand??

Post by Barbiere di Figaro »

As I was trying to get things worked out for Gary, I got in contact with the Dutch supplier of De Vergulde Hand. (I know it isn't Italian but I was asked on another forum and as we're from Holland, it should be pretty easy adding their products to our shop) I would like to know if there's any interest in their products on SMF and if so, which products taht would be. Is it the Shaving cream in a jar, a tube or the shaving stick?

Just let me know. Thanks,

Eric
