They sent me an email to say the store's open. A couple of times I tried to open the link and the PC froze up both times. Not worth the hassle. Something's off, and I'll just have to wait I guess.

The site works for me (you might need to update your flash player).

It says they turned to a blend of natural ingredients in their shave cream to deliver the comfort and performance we deserve. Natural ingredients! Gad, the audacity! Why didn't anybody think of that before?

"Your skin is cooled and calmed by extracts from licorice, milk thistle and cucumber, protected by Vitamins E and B5, and moisturized by marula and coconut oils long after your shave is finished."

It's supposed to work into a luxurious lather. Graphics show a dab of shaving cream being squeezed onto a palm, so one assumes no brush is needed.

I like the looks of the Truman razor, but not its five blades. So goes my hopes for an up-market Guard or Sensor.

The Easter Bunny brought my package on Monday, but I waited till today to open it up because, after all, it was from the Easter Bunny!

I was very pleasantly surprised to see that it included not only the Truman razor I expected but also a tube of the shaving cream.

The cartridge has four blades.

The handle is medium weight and quite attractive for plastic.

I'm two shaves in with the Harry (Truman razor handle, plastic). Razor handle weight and balance decent. Interesting pivot design, with a little plastic stop at the end of its travel--this is no doubt a cost-saving measure. The shave with 'traditional' kit was surprisingly decent: mild-feeling but consistent. I'd rate it almost as good as the much more expensive Fusion Proglide. Of course, more than one blade is redundant anyway. SMF members wouldn't be particularly interested (hey, I'm just taking one for the team). It might be OK for travel. I'll see if their shaving cream is up to snuff next (a quick look at the ingredient list indicates it might be brush-friendly).

So I tried that Harry's shaving cream this morning. It worked OK. No real scent to speak of (though there was just a hint of Proraso-ish eucalyptus when I first applied it). Very low lathering and applying with hands took a fair amount of product. Using a brush (in this case a very cheap Ecotools synthetic--I wasn't about to try it with a "good" brush) generated a better lather. The shave was serviceable, though uninteresting.

However the long ingredient list gives me pause:
water, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, potassium hydroxide, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, methyl gluceth-20, sodium isostearoyl lactylate, coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, caprylic/capric/mysteric/stearic triglyceride, sclerocarya bierra seed oil, hydrogenated coco-glycerides, propanediol, coconut water, aloe leaf juice powder, licorice root extract, ocimum sanctum leaf powder, silybum marianum fruit extract, panthenol, butylene glycol, polyquaternium-7, tocopheryl acetate, peppermint oil, eucalyptus leaf oil, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerine, sodium benzoate, phenoxyethanol, peg-15 distearate, bht, disodium edta, dipropylene glycol, menthoxypropanediol
