Unbelievable brick-and-mortar hits Southern California !!!

Post by Damon Stathatos »

I am very proud to announce the opening of our newest concept store, The Old Town Shaving Company at Stats, in Pasadena, California. Stats, a family owned and operated business of over 50 years, has been primarily engaged in home decorative and seasonal merchandise. The Old Town Shaving Company at Stats was created in an effort to bring a more varied and diverse product and industry mix into our current offerings. Located in the heart of ‘Old Town’ Pasadena, one of Southern California’s most prestigious and sought after retail destinations, our Old Town Shaving will rightfully be in place and just alongside internationally notable establishments such as Tiffany, The Apple Store, and Sur La Table, as well as a vast and eclectic assortment of unique and homespun artisan and unique establishments in our area.

The ‘Old Town Shaving’ concept, an ongoing project spanning the past eight months, has been created with the vision of building the largest and most complete brick-and-mortar shaving store in the country, and perhaps even the world. It is our intention to be referred to and talked about in the same manner and conversations of Pasteur Pharmacy in New York, Merz Apothecary in Chicago, as well as all of the major houses in London and elsewhere abroad.

Although we have given Old Town Shaving its own separate store-front, utilizing a heretofore unused entrance of one of our three connected buildings (a building which dates back to 1890), Old Town Shaving has been built as an adjunct to our existing business which will give us the ability to expand or contract the size and scope of this concept as we see fit. Due to the highly seasonal nature of our primary business and with us now heading into the heavy sales period of this forth quarter, we have been able to only devote approximately 1,000 (of our 32,000) sq. ft. of space to our project initially. However, immediately following the forth quarter we plan on expanding, possibly doubling or even tripling the size and scope of this concept. Much will have to do with the reception and enthusiasm generated during our beginning periods of operation. Although our initial concept only includes our brick-and-mortar operation, an internet component may be soon to follow.

And so, without further ado, I’d like to present to you…The Old Town Shaving Company at Stats…

Why couldn't you be on this side of the continent? Beautiful looking shop. Best of luck with the business.

MdC in the States! If we call your location can you do mail order until the Internet business is up and running?

Good luck - definitely looks like a one-stop shop!

Chris took the words right out of my mouth. A gorgeous and true tribute to days gone by for sure. Some of your store fixtures are reminiscent of The Rose Apothecary in Howarth and Leeds. Best of luck --- franchise and open stores elsehwere.....

Thanks to all of your for your enthusiasm and good wishes. Truthfully, I posted this more as a 'news flash' rather than a solicitation. You have a wonderful community on this forum of shaving enthusiasts who are more concerned about sharing experiences and ideas, and learning and teaching, and everything that goes along with the passion and the ensuing discovery process.

I'd be happy to send MDC to any SMF member here for an SMF exclusive offer...$35 plus actual shipping.

I'd ask anyone interested to first go over to Facebook and 'Like me,' whatever that means, and then send me a PM here at SMF with your shipping address and I'll get you a delivered price. The Facebook address is at the bottom of my original post. And actually, if you don't 'do' Facebook, no problem, just send me the PM.

Thanks again and happy shaving to one and all.
