The Rocnel SE-G Gem Razor Preview (Picture Heavy)

Post by BullGoose »

Murat shared a few pictures with me this morning and I thought I would post them here. The Rocnel SE-G is a titanium coated stainless steel Gem Razor that will weigh in at 100g with a 90mm length.

The photos show the razor after one titanium coating. They are waiting for the 2nd coating before being shipped to me.

For those curious about how to change a blade in the Rocnel SE-G, a video is worth 1000 words.

Thank you Gary. I was trying to use the youtube button on the menu panel but could not get it to work for the life of me.

My pleasure Phil. The razor looks substantial, and I am hoping to eventually have an opportunity to try it out. I'm curious to learn the price when it becomes available. I am also very curious about the little threaded rod that seems to be a separate moving part that serves to tighten the blade and also to fasten the handle to the head. Is there a danger that the little threaded rod will get lost if someone unscrews it all the way for any reason? The video seems to be telling us that the little threaded rod is mandatory to be finger-tight before the handle is installed so the blade is not going to fall out. What would happen if the little rod develops an attraction to the threaded handle and comes all the way out when the handle is removed? Might this little threaded rod be considered a weakness in the overall concept?

I have not yet seen them in person so, I cannot comment. I am looking forward to receipt so I can adopt one and play around with it a bit.

The SE-G will retail for $210.00
