Commonly used acronyms and terms found throughout SMF...

Post by nodaktim »

Being new to SMF and reading ALOT of posts, I thought it might help newbies to the forum (myslef included) to have a list of acronyms/terms and their meanings.

For example:

SMF = ShaveMyFace.com

IMO = In My Opinion

IMHO = In My Humble Opinion

TTO = Twist To Open

WTG = With The Grain

XTG = X The Grain (across the grain)

ATG = Against The Grain

YMMV = Your Method May Vary

FWIW = For What It's Worth

Do a search. You'll find them all.

Some of these and others are so commonly used that it is just assumed everyone knows their meaning...I just thought we could have a list and other members could post additional acronyms to have them for easy reference.

Thanks, Tim -

I have been trying to figure out what SWMBO meant, though I could see that it referred to members' wives.

Good start Tim. Of course many acronyms are common to all blogs and forums, but a few more shaving-related that you could add to the list would be:

DFS: Damn Fine Shave (Not quite as close as BBS but still very good)
SE: Single Edge
FO: Fragrance Oil
EO: Essential Oil
PIF: Pay It Forward
