SMF

I have always had the following option selected within my pofile:

"Always notify me of replies:
Sends an e-mail when someone replies to a topic you have posted in. This can be changed whenever you post."

Recently, all notifications have stopped. Has anyone else experienced this recently?

I didn't think it worked at all. This version of phpBB is out-dated and is no longer getting any maintenance updates. We were promised last July that our owner was upgrading SMF to the current version 'before the end of the week'.
