Clive, it works out to about $20 shipped....which works out to a lot less than most.

Richard

Thanks for the info. I feel much better now knowing that not so flush members of the forum can indulge in a magnificent soap experience.

Ravi, I help spread out the shipping by ordering brushes from Kent at the same. That really helps.

Completely understandable. I may not be able to partake in the Wool Fat ISD because in the last month I have bought 2 new brushes and a bunch of National Championship stuff. That is the reason I try to offer an alternative such as the classic soap option. Williams/Palmolive and others would work. It would just give a push to those wanting to try it and give those that have an opportunity to extol the virtues as it may be.

We're all going to have to change our nicknames to Woolfat.
Richard, thanks for the extra links, I just have to fight the temptation of getting more Woolfat.

Str8G8r wrote:Ok looks like everyone is leaning toward a soap day. The Kent Wool Fat soap would be great but I need someone to post up some links to places to get it. If there is ordering involved then we need to decide now. A substitute for the wool fat would be any classic scented soap. Williams, palmolive and the like. I have to think a little more about the razor choice but will post more later.
What do you think about a Feather theme? Any type of razor as long as it has something to do with Feather. A Gillette with a Feather DE blade, a Feather DE Razor, or a Feather AC?

That is a fantastic idea. Getting a feather blade is as simple as 1 2 3

Ahem.

"The Razor-Tailed Wren" by Shel Silverstein

The razor-tailed wren,
He’ll pretend he’s your friend
As he cuts all the grass on your lawn,
But do not leave anything
Sticking far out
Or swishity – it will be gone.

from Where the Sidewalk Ends, accompanied by a lovely illustration of the wren cutting off a poor chap's nose.

a combination of bruno and richard's propositions sound interesting. namely, a trumpers rose or sandalwood scented soap and a 1940's gillettte super speed with a feather blade.

OR i would suggest a schick injector razor (with schick blades), a d. r. harris (almond) soap and any classic fan-shaped british-made brush...

Me too, but I don't (yet) have the Wool Fat.

Traditionally the ISD has been the first Sunday of the month. Let's try a week day this time. The 1st of Febuary falls on Thursday. There you have it. The ISD for Feb.

Or any SMF brush??

Believe it or not......I still have my SMF II sitting in its box from last year....unused! Thats why I didn't pull the trigger on V III.

Of course you can substitute if you don't have something. Remember it is more the idea and the theme when you don't have the specifics.
