The Butter Shave

Post by royalcrown »

This is probably old for all the veteran shavers, but has anyone tried using butter as a shaving cream? It seemed to work for Kramer ok...

"Kramer: D-d-d-d. I gotta switch shaving cream. I'm getting no protection."

"Jerry: Why are you buttering your face?

Kramer: I'm shaving with it.

Jerry: Oh Moses smell the roses.

Kramer: Jerry, it's vastly superior to any commercial shaving cream. Now feel my face."

And a little more slick than the butter of the peanut variety.

When I first joined a little less than a year ago, someone here was using that routine in their .sig. Wish I remembered who that was now....

Quality fillet knives can hold a very sharp edge, and I have one that might actually work. The serration variant holds no attraction, however. Might work fine cutting the rib bones out of a walleye, but not in my face. :P

I think the curve on that type of blade likely makes it too easy to cut yourself. "Gramps", who used to visit this board often, did a complete shave with his knife once. I think his knife had a long straight section.

If I get that desperate for shaving lather or soap, I will use shampoo.
