Tabac Shave Stick

Post by Barry »

My friend is in Amsterdam and found the shave stick (not the tub of hard soap). Has anyone tried this stick?

Can it be melted?

Thanks,

Barry

I think he's going to bring back three or more. I might trade one away - I'll give you first dibs on it.

The cool thing is he's also bringing me back some "fresh" stroopwaffles which are two thin waffles with treacle syrup in the middle and also two bags of kirsh liqeur bon-bons. :o

I use a tabac shaving stick and I love it. I actually used mine last night and I find it to be easily the equal of trumpers hard soaps at half the cost.

You can buy tabac shaving sticks from shavemac I think, or there are several UK companies selling it, see below:

http://www.auravita.com/products/AURA/FDIN10107.asp

This soap is tallow based (so it will last a very long time) and it is possible to melt it. If you microwave it it will burn and turn into a lumpy goo, but if you double boil it slowly, it will melt sufficiently for pouring into a mug.

Hope this helps.

Hey Fellas-

I just wanted to let those of you who may be interested know that the Tabac Shave Stick is also available in the U.S. from:

http://www.smallflower.com

(PLEASE NOTE: I have never transacted with this company before, so I cannot vouch for their online retail paractices.)

Enjoy!

With the Tabac stick, you get the luxury of the lather and the great performance, even if you're in a hurry in the morning as I usually am. It's one of the best soaps ever created!

Great product, have one in the travel shave kit. Wouldnt suggest trying to melt it though, just use it as a shave stick.

I have 3 of them. I refused a purchase request, because I want to keep them for myself.

WestCoast Shaving has them. I can vouch for the service there!

My source for Tabac products. Bullgoose Shaving. I have placed a couple orders with Phil and he has provided great service, quick shipping and he is quick to get back to me with answers to questions. Top Notch for sure.
