I'm looking forward to a nice glass or 3 of Guinness and a good cigar tonight.

Not strictly a beer, and not something I drink very often, but Stella Artois. We Brits affectionately call it 'Wife Beater' 8) .

I've had several Fat Tire Ales recently (Belgian?). Very good.

Not strictly beer? A bitter? Stella has become very popular in So. California. I like it.

Ray,
Fat tires are brewed by the New Belgium brewing Co. located in our own Colorado. Having this stuff on tap is one of my favourites.

I'm firmly convinced that when Benjamin Franklin wrote, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy,” he was talking about IPA. Hops rule! =D>

Aha - I knew there was a 'Belgium' connection somehow. The barkeep was serving them cold from the tap so I haven't seen a bottle. FT compares to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, another favorite.

bundaberg ginger beer

ok so its not a 'beer' and its non alc...

but damn! its the best dang ginger beer in the world

(not for americans to confuse it with dry ginger/ginger ale etc, since you cant get any half decent ginger beer in this country without importing it..)

When I was a kid we could get Real Jamaican Ginger Beer. The stuff actually burned slightly as it went down. BTW, US made, alas now extinct. In regards to beer I'm being a recidivist and having another Commadore Perry.

Regarding Stone Brewing, when I lived in Oregon I always ordered Arrogant Bastard Ale on tap, mmm liquid arrogance!!! The bottles of Oaked Arrogant Bastard are quite good. The Double Bastard requires a seat belt. I also highly recommend the XI Anniversary Ale.

hey dave, I've found two kinds of GB here in usa. Reeds and 'Stewarts' (no relation). reeds is like sugar water its aweful. Stewarts isnt too bad but I cant find a retailer (only found it in a german restaurant on I81 here in virginia).

so the world market has a good supply of australian made ginger beer (just dont get the diet version...)
