Great idea! I will have to remember that one next time mine wants me to go as well!Bertie Wooster wrote:My wife made the mistake of dragging me into one of those expensive candle stores. I asked the girls working there why didn't they have bisquit & gravy or bacon & eggs scented candles. I thought it was a pretty good idea. My wife has never asked me to go back into one of those places again.i_shaved_something wrote:mmm..bacon...
Potential new cream scent from Taylors/Trumpers?

Just saw this and while maple bacon is good, applewood, darn good. We used to go to a place in Destin, Florida that served applewood bacon with fresh squeezed OJ, some hashbrowned cubes, sausage gravy and biscuits.Stubble wrote:Love bacon, but has to be applewood smoked, much better than maple. I don't how I missed this thread....it has made me ravenous!
A deli near my home has a sandwich called the "Bachelor Brunch".
This from their menu:
"Bachelor Brunch (Grilled)
Crisp Sliced Bacon topped with Sliced Hard Boiled Egg, Sliced Jalapenos and Swiss Cheese on Pumpernickel Bread grilled to perfection."
What's not in the description is that it has their fabulous "mustard sauce" on it and is grilled in butter. Oh, and it's about 6-7 slices of thick-cut bacon.

Do you want to enjoy the great taste of bacon without all the guilt of slaughtering animals or straying from a Kosher diet?
Well here's some good news for you!
Yay... now EVERYTHING can taste like bacon!

I love bacon! Haven't had any in a while. Before this pesky diabetes thing got me I used to polish off a whole pund on my own. My favorite were bacon sandwiches. Nothing but to slabs of bread crammed with bacon slices topped with a slice of cheese and some BBQ sauce. Great snack. My wife has been asking me to get turkey bacon because she knows how much I miss eating it but if I can't have the real thing why bother?
Also, my mom used to fry up some bacon and then refryied beans in the bacon fat. Best beans ever! It's pretty common in Hispanic households. Sadly, my mom is also diabetic now to and no more refired beans in bacon fat or lard. I wonder what the coorelation between diabetes and bacon is?

JP- Malabar Farms! Yes! Primo stuff!
Okay, if you love bacon, try this: It's called a Texas Tommy.
Take a hot dog and slice it 3/4 of the way in half.
Stuff the middle with a slice of american cheese.
Wrap the cheese filled dog in 2 slices of thick bacon.
Secure the bacon with 3-4 toothpicks. (it will look like a weird, meat and wood satellite)
Drop the whole shootin' match into a deep fryer for about 60 seconds, or until the bacon turns crisp.
Remove from the deep fryer and drop into a bun.
This is one of the best pieces of garbage food you will ever eat.
You can actually order one of these at "The Cup" restaurant in Pottstown, PA (if it's still there). It (the Cup) looks like a giant milkshake cup. Haven't been there in years. I hope it still exists.
