Pre-Shave: Hot towel/hot towel on lather
Razor: Gillette Tech w/ bakelite handle
Blade: Sputnik, first shave
Brush: generic badger brush
Soap: Caswell & Massey almond
A/S: Aqua Velva/Nivea for Men lotion

Got just one nick from the Sputnik -- it won't be on the top of my list, but not a bad blade, either. And I am enjoying the C&M almond, although I know there aren't too many fans of their soaps around.

Monday

Slant | Derby | EJ superbadger | GFT Sandalwood SS | Kiehl's moisturizer | Floris No.89

Since I've been training myself to use both hands when shaving with a straight razor, I decided this morning to translate that to my DE razor shave. (I usually just use my dominant hand). Although awkward at spots, the shave went very well - no nicks or irritation.

Have a good one, gents!

Progress/NOS Light Brigade Wilkinson Sword
Sabrooney finest 1/2
Trumper's coconut soap
Lucky Tiger tonic
Tabac edt

About a month ago I started cleaning my razor after my Sunday shave. and putting the new blade in at that time too. It adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the Monday morning shave, having a nice clean razor all ready to go.

Dominic, I did a razor cleaning yesterday, and I feel confident that it did indeed improve today's shave.

Monday

EJ Super Badger (man, this thing is huge: holds heat and water well)
D.R. Harris almond cream
1952 Canadian Tech
Lord blade (day 4)
Humphrey's witch hazel
Floid (Italian)

Terrific shave, as usual with Harris cream and my Canadian Tech. The Lord blade does much better in this razor than in my Tech. I'll use a new one tomorrow, and I may try to go 5 or more days if possible. I used some Neutrogena soap between the shave and the witch hazel. Hoping to knock out some bumps I created with poor technique and an unnecessary ATG pass yesterday.

Good shaving,
Regards,
Tim

Superior Super 20mm
TOBS Lavender Shave Cream
Merkur Classic w/ Feather (day 4)
Booster June Clover AS

I agree with the gents who noted a rapid fall off in performance of the
Feather after the first few shaves. It was rougher than yesterday.

Hi Dave,

A forum member was kind enough to send me some. They are available at Indian grocers. I'll ask him to contact you or post a note with more information.

Regards,
Chuck
