Monday
  • Prep: regular (shower, towelling dry, remoistening the beard with warm water)
  • Cream: Truefitt & Hill 'Grafton'
  • Brush: Shavemac silvertip badger
  • Razor: Gillette M3Power on a non-vibrating handle
  • Method: 1 N-S + WTG (neck) pass, 1 N-S, 1 ATG, almost no touching up
  • Aftershave: Truefitt & Hill 'Grafton'
Last week was dedicated to DE experiments which I put on hold for the time being. I'm focussing my efforts on breaking in the Grafton products. The cream is great, the aftershave is less, I regret to say. The cheapskates at T&H have decided that all that is put in the product is water, alcohol and fragrance; there are no moisturisers in it. For the price you pay this is really not acceptable. I therefore 'spiked' my bottle with 1 to 2 ml of glycerin (*gasp!*), which is about the amount found in other brands of aftershave too. The aftershave is a 'slow burner' so to speak, but at least my skin feels a little softer afterwards, and not as dried-out.

The scent gets bonus points for making my sweetheart say Oooohhh. That's nice what you're wearing. What is it called?

Good morning. Monday:

TV Superspeed w/NOS Wilkinson
Alibaba, medium
CF Lavender cream
Thayer's lavender witch hazel
Harris Pink

After yesterday's unleasantness with the Trig blade, this is what a shave should be- smooth, close and comfortable. Maybe the next experiment should be true fidelity?....Nah, but it's worth a thought.
Best,
Chris

Monday

EJ Super
TOBS Shaving Shop
Canadian Tech
Lord (day 4)
Booster Iced Limes
TOBS No. 74 Victorian Limes

Just a lousy shave. For starters, I do in fact have an ingrown coming in on my right neck which I need to get rid of. Second, I need to let the right side of my neck heal a bit from the irritation I dealt it on Saturday. Third, these Lord blades are good for 3 days. I pushed it to 4 for a second straight blade and for a second time I was rewarded with tugging and skipping and general annoyance.

Regards,
Regards,
Tim

What started out to be just a quick shave turned into one of my best.

C&E BBB
P. 160 Soap
Merkur HD
Crystal
Nivea Energy ASB

Had a nice close shave yesterday so this morning felt like just a quick clean up to tidy things up. Ended up with just a beautiful shave to follow up yesterday's masterpiece.

Have a great week,
