this has to be my favorite SOTD pic yet. very nice.
Thank you for the kind words.
Chris,
I have to second Dave's comments. Not just is it cool equipment but the setting is great too. Great imagination in setting up the pix. Did you actually shave outdoors that day?
Now I do want to let you know that Dave is not exactly telling the truth about this being his favorite SOTD pix. He would have liked it better if you had a vintage GEM or ER razor in the pix instead of your great looking str8. Who knows he may have even copied it to his computer, printed it and framed it to hang in his shave den.
Prep Practically none. Just a quick wipe of the face with a warm wash cloth
Brush C&E BBB
Cream TSD Tropical Verbena
Razor 1907 GEM Jr Lather catcher with wood handle
Blade Ted Pella PTFE coated SE (shave 5)
Oil Pass Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
A/S Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner
Result I have had better shaves, closer shaves, more comfortable shaves but not on shave 5 for a blade. I didn't prep properly so that may have added to the not so BBS shave today. The TSD Tropical Verbena made a great lather and offered a refreshing scent first thing in the morning. No blood today either.

Dovo Special 6/8 and Blue Diamond 4/8

Tabac soap
Home-made witch hazel + EO AS

Creed Bois du Portugal EDT

NEW LUX
Super Iridium
C&E Best Badger
T&H Luxury soap
Nivea Sensitive Balm
Rosehip seed oil
I tried the T&H soap for the first time yesterday and today. It's was O.K., but the lather was thin, the scent was unremarkable, and it lacked the cushion of my favorite, MWF. I've strayed enough. Tomorrow, it's back to the Fat.

Again, thanks for the kind words. Yes, I did shave outside for that day's shave.
I have a few GEMs & ERs in my collection. So, for next weekend, I can repeat the shoot with it.

Vulfix 2233
Williams Soap/NB Repl. Shave Cream
Pinaud Lime Sec as A/S
Em's Woodstock Cologne
An excellent lather. The 2233 was my first badger brush and I soon contracted SBAD, never becoming proficient with a soft, flexible brush. I am really enjoying the 2233 and the Kent BK4.
