Is it just me, or are the posts way down?

Even after I've been gone all day there haven't been more than 30 or so posts-since-last-visit for me the past couple of weeks. What's going on?

Are we no longer attracting new members? Have we run out of things to talk about?

Hi GA -

Posts are definitely down. I think we just have quiet times and more active times. We just finished the Labor Day weekend and kids are returning to school. I expect that it will pick up again fairly soon.

Yes, posts are definitely down. We need a sequel of Sweeney Todd to get new members.

I've seen post down also. Some of it is time of year. Some is that a handful of our more long-winded members aren't posting here or are posting with much lower frequency for various reasons.

We also are coming off a surge in wet shaving popularity caused by the NBC interview and the article posted on Art of Manliness. Most younger guys aren't even aware that you can still get traditional shaving gear, let alone a clue of where to get it and how to use it. Gillette and Schick spend millions upon millions of dollars every year convincing guys they're getting "the best a man can get" so they don't look for something else. The swing from our recent high to our current low makes it appear worse, but things will pick up.

One of the things I like best about this forum is the high ratio of quality over quantity. Low post activity is not a problem for me.

A few guys have new additions to the family, new school year, fantasy football HAHAHA, also I am sure lots of very important things to worry about like mortgages, car payments etc. Its tough to stay focused on SMF, but even so the gents still lurk about dreaming of a coates comeback
